For the past 5 weeks award winning design duo BCXSY have been in residency at the Sirius Arts Centre. Boaz Cohen and Sayaka Yamamoto have been invited to Sirius to work with traditional craftsmen at Meithal Mara as part of their ongoing project of design works titled Origin: explorations into traditional crafts from a variety of backgrounds and disciplines.
Over the past weeks BCXSY have been at the workshop at Meithal Mara envisioning how their traditional craft methods can be utilized in contemporary design.
The output from this exciting collaborative project will be featured at the 51st edition of the Salone Internazionale del Mobil in Milano.
BCXSY have won numerous awards for their past projects including being short listed for the Brit Design of the year Awards the Dutch Design awards and past creation from Origin Part One – Join (Japan) – has been purchased for the permanent collection at the Victoria and Albert Museum.
